Hanukkah marked the first time Max met his new cousin with a camera present. Layne Helen was born on November 19. They initially met very briefly at Thanksgiving, but Hannukkah was the first time we encouraged interaction. We figured we can safely let Max pet Layne and leave it at that. No need for Max to give her one of his "kisses" where he sucks your nose. In the pictures on the left, Aunt Alyssa and Meri carefully guided Max in for his gentle stroke of Layne's arm. Thankfully, all was good... Though Max (Maxine the dog, that is) was quite upset that now there are
two babies in the house. She's keeps getting demoted in the attention pecking order, the poor girl.
